Graebener® delivers 3 circ seam milling machines to CS WIND Offshore A/S for capacity expansion at their Lindø site in Denmark

Even after the takeover of Bladt Industries A/S by CS WIND, Graebener® remains the chosen supplier for milling technology

Graebener® and Bladt Industries A/S, a Danish company that has played a decisive role in shaping the offshore wind industry, have a longstanding partnership. Since 2010, the special machine builder from Germany has been supplying the offshore giant with its machines. Graebener® was also able to support the production expansion at the Lindø site in 2022 - at that time with a total of three circumferential seam milling machines and a longitudinal seam milling machine including a pipe turning device for 150-ton sections.

In December 2023, Bladt Industries was taken over by the South Korean wind turbine tower manufacturer CS WIND, and the partnership with Graebener® was fortunately maintained. Recently, Graebener® was able to deliver three more circ seam milling machines to CS WIND Offshore.

A total of 7 different milling machines made in Netphen/Germany are now in operation at the Danish site. The machines are used to prepare weld seams on cylindrical and conical monopile pipe segments with milling depths of up to 150 mm.

Upon customer request, Graebener® developed a new pipe turning device for the longitudinal seam milling machine in 2022, which is used to position cylindrical and conical pipe sections with very large diameters, cone angles of up to 6° and a unit weight of up to 150 tons. The innovative machine does not work with support rollers, but with special servomotor-driven rollers that position the cones without longitudinal drift and therefore without any damage to the outer edge of the pipe.
