Profile Milling Machines

For an optimum weld seam preparation at shipbuilding profiles we have developed the Graebener® profile milling machines. These machines are suited for all common types of (shipbuilding) steels and can be used for various profile shapes in a flexible and cost-efficient way – for example bulb profiles, T-profiles, angle steel and flats. Benefit from our customized solutions.

OverviewConcept

When manufacturing large ship deck section so-called "stiffener" profiles are placed and welded onto the sections which serve for stabilizing the panels. To join the stiffener profiles by means of the laser or laser-hybrid welding process, the profile edges need to be prepared first. For this purpose, we have developed the Graebener® profile milling machines which reliably process the profile edge of the plates delivered from the rolling machine with a certain round shape.

Our solutions are suited for a wide range of profile dimensions.

Profile length (milling length):

3 - 30 m

Material thickness:

up to 35 mm

Profile types:

bulb profiles (HP profiles)

flat steels

angle steels even

angle steels uneven

T-profiles

Graebener® profile milling machines are no standard solution. As custom machine builder we have be specializing for decades on machine concepts following the ever increasing requirements for quality of the weld seam preparation. These concepts are customized for your individual requirements as well the materials applied.

Graebener® profile milling machines are designed for the integration into a profile production line and works on the principle that the workpiece is moved through the machine instead of the milling head moving along the workpiece. This way, you can further transport the stiffeners after the processing in a fully automated stiffener fitter.
