Once again top organized and with perfect weather conditions (not too hot, not too cold, dry almost the whole time) a total of 800 athletes started at the 34th EJOT Triathlon in Kreuztal-Buschhütten.
Besides top starters like Sebastian Kienle, Tim Hellwig, Andreas Niedrig and Caroline Pohle, Graebener® also sent a company relay team to start again this year. Fabian Kapp, managing director of Graebener®, and Dieter Kapp, former managing partner, who are very affiliated with the Triathlon Buschhütten not only as a long-standing sponsor but also in their private lives, did not miss the opportunity to cheer on the Graebener® relay team in person.
The first discipline (0.5 km swim) was started by Eva Kapp in the warm water outdoor pool Buschhütten and she handed over the baton to Linda Göbel, who completed 26 km cycling on the four-lane city highway - which was closed especially for the event. The final discipline, the run (5.3 km), was performed by Dominic Bender on a circuit around the Buschhütten sports field.
By the way, Dieter Kapp took over the trophy presentation for the entire relay distance on this day. Even though he unfortunately could not hand over a trophy to the Graebener® athletes, they were very happy about a successful participation. Of course, Fabian Kapp also cordially congratulated the athletes: "I am proud that our team, some of whose members were participating for the first time, completed the distances so confidently. A great performance."
